Graduating with a first class honours degree in Textile Design from Derby University over fifteen years ago, Lindsey recently left the textile industry to focus on her own work and development.
Having travelled extensively with her work, Lindsey now works from her studio in Woodend Creative Workspace, Scarborough. Stimulated by her surroundings of wondrous landscapes and moody seas, colour, texture, and the evocation of mood and atmosphere are her main inspirations as well as exploring mediums and techniques beyond their perceived boundaries.
As Lindsey says, “Materials often take on a life of their own, and can be the inspiration of a piece of work as easily as something visual. All the techniques I use have an element of the unknown – a surprise factor, in that by their very nature, certain results are never assured!”
As well as her sumptuous scarves and wraps, Lindsey creates brooches to adorn and fasten her creations, textile art and felt vessels.
